On September 18, 2026, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau (ECEB) in Washington, D.C. held a productive meeting with representatives of the University of ُTennesse with a particular focus on the College of Emerging and Collaborative Studies (CECS), to explore opportunities for academic and research collaboration with Egyptian universities.

The discussion highlighted CECS’s innovative interdisciplinary approach to emerging technologies and their practical applications, including the integration of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies across a wide range of disciplines beyond engineering and technology, including healthcare, business, humanities, and social sciences.

Potential areas of collaboration discussed included dual-degree pathways such as 2+2 and 3+1 models, faculty development and collaborative teaching, curriculum development, faculty and student mobility, joint student projects and international competitions in AI, robotics, and emerging technologies, as well as pre-college and summer programs in technology and innovation.

The meeting also explored opportunities for broader institutional collaboration with the University of Tennessee in areas including engineering, education and teacher preparation, STEM, business, agriculture, data science, and public health, through joint research, faculty collaboration and capacity building, student and faculty exchanges, short-term mobility programs, and dual-degree programs.

وشملت مجالات التعاون التي تمت مناقشتها تطوير مسارات للدرجات المزدوجة بنماذج مثل 2+2 و3+1، وتنمية قدرات أعضاء هيئة التدريس والتدريس التعاوني، وتطوير المناهج، وحراك أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب، وتنفيذ مشروعات طلابية مشتركة والمشاركة في المسابقات الدولية في مجالات الذكاء الاصطناعي والروبوتات والتكنولوجيات الناشئة، إلى جانب برامج ما قبل الجامعة والبرامج الصيفية في مجالات التكنولوجيا والابتكار.

كما تناول الاجتماع فرص توسيع نطاق التعاون المؤسسي مع University of Tennessee ليشمل مجالات الهندسة، والتعليم وإعداد المعلمين، وSTEM، وإدارة الأعمال، والزراعة، وعلوم البيانات، والصحة العامة، من خلال البحوث المشتركة، وتنمية قدرات أعضاء هيئة التدريس والتعاون بينهم، والتبادل والحراك الطلابي والأكاديمي، والبرامج قصيرة المدى، وبرامج الدرجات المزدوجة.
