On May 22, 2026, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau (ECEB) in Washington, D.C. facilitated a virtual meeting between Dr. Eiman Elgewely, Assistant Professor at Virginia Tech and Director of the Visualization and Virtual Reality Lab, and Dr. Aly Abdel Halim, Director of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration related to "Roots of Eternity: Breathing Life into Meketre's Models in VR," an innovative project that utilizes virtual reality, digital storytelling, and immersive technologies to bring ancient Egyptian heritage to life.

Participants discussed the possibility of hosting the exhibition as a temporary exhibit at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, allowing Egyptian audiences, students, researchers, and museum visitors to experience cutting-edge technologies that enhance the interpretation and presentation of Egypt's rich cultural heritage.

The discussion highlighted the growing role of digital innovation in museums and heritage preservation and explored opportunities for future cooperation between Virginia Tech and Egyptian cultural institutions.

قام المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بواشنطن يوم٢٢ مايو ٢٠٢٦ بتنسيق اجتماع افتراضي بين الدكتورة إيمان الجويلي، الأستاذ المساعد بجامعة فرجينيا تك ومديرة معمل التصور والواقع الافتراضي، والدكتور علي عبد الحليم، مدير المتحف المصري بالتحرير.

وتناول الاجتماع بحث فرص التعاون المتعلقة بمشروع "جذور الخلود: إحياء نماذج مكت رع باستخدام الواقع الافتراضي" (Roots of Eternity)، وهو مشروع مبتكر يوظف تقنيات الواقع الافتراضي والسرد الرقمي والتجارب التفاعلية لإعادة تقديم جوانب من التراث المصري القديم بأساليب حديثة ومبتكرة.

وشهد اللقاء مناقشة إمكانية استضافة المعرض بشكل مؤقت بالمتحف المصري بالتحرير، بما يتيح للزوار والباحثين والطلاب فرصة التعرف على أحدث التطبيقات التكنولوجية المستخدمة في عرض وتفسير التراث الثقافي المصري.

كما أكد المشاركون أهمية توظيف التقنيات الرقمية الحديثة في المتاحف والمؤسسات الثقافية، ودورها في تعزيز تجربة الزائر والحفاظ على التراث ونشره للأجيال الجديدة بأساليب تفاعلية مبتكرة.
