On November, 11, 2021, Prof. Ali Massoud, the Cultural Attaché and the Director of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Washington held a meeting with the Office of International Medicine Programs at George Washington University. The goal of this meeting is to enhance the cooperation between the Egyptian universities and George Washington University.

Prof. Chanhenda Ezzat, the Cultural Attaché, Professor Jehan Bayoumi, School of Medicine and Health Science, Dr. Huda Ayes, Stanley Noll, and Shereen Toubaji from the Office of International Medicine Programs had joined the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Massoud had explained to the participants that Egypt is interested in the following types of cooperation with George Washington University. These types are: establishing branch of GWU in Egypt, establishing joint programs, establishing twin centers, research cooperation, and faculty & students exchange.

Prof. Jehan Bayoumi and the Office of International Medicine Programs had shown a great interest in developing a work plan for an accreditation program that allows graduates from Medicine schools in Egypt to get the American accreditation. Moreover, they agreed to work with the Bureau on the student exchange.

Finally, Prof. Chahenda Ezzat explained the importance of developing an intensive program for study abroad that gives GWU’s students the opportunity to spend some time at Egyptian universities.
