The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau proudly participated in the First Oud Forum hosted by the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center in Washington, D.C.

This exceptional musical gathering was designed and curated by the musician and singer Muath Edriss معاذ إدريس, and brought together a group of distinguished oud players from around the world — each representing the richness and diversity of oriental musical traditions.

Prof. Nermine Sabry, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Attaché, was honored to attend as a guest of the event. During the forum, she shared reflections on the profound role of the oud in shaping the identity of oriental music, with special emphasis on its influence in Egyptian musical heritage — from classical compositions to modern interpretations.

وقد صُمم هذا الحدث الموسيقي الاستثنائي ونُفذ بعناية على يد الموسيقي والمطرب معاذ إدريس، وضم مجموعة متميزة من عازفي العود من مختلف أنحاء العالم، والذين مثّلوا تنوّع وغنى التقاليد الموسيقية الشرقية.

وقد تشرفت الأستاذة الدكتورة نيرمين صبري، الملحق الثقافي والتعليمي لجمهورية مصر العربية، بحضور المنتدى كضيفة شرف، حيث عبّرت خلال مشاركتها عن الدور العميق لآلة العود في تشكيل هوية الموسيقى الشرقية، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على تأثيرها الكبير في التراث الموسيقي المصري، من التكوينات الكلاسيكية إلى التجارب المعاصرة.
