On Saturday, August 29, the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in Washington, D.C., was delighted to host a special cultural gathering celebrating the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi).
The celebration began with the cultural story behind the traditional sweets associated with this special occasion in Egypt, exploring their history and the stories and traditions that have made them such a familiar part of Mawlid celebrations for generations.
We were then honored to welcome Mr. Amgad Ismael, who shared two beautiful poems in praise of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), adding a wonderful literary dimension to the evening.
The program concluded with an engaging talk by Sheikh Ahmed Almaz (الشيخ أحمد ألمظ), who reflected on the Prophet’s character, values, and behavior, and discussed how these principles can inspire our daily lives and interactions within American society.

استضاف المكتب الثقافي والتعليمي المصري بواشنطن، يوم السبت الموافق 29 أغسطس، احتفالية ثقافية خاصة بمناسبة المولد النبوي الشريف، جمعت بين التراث والثقافة والشعر والقيم الإنسانية.
بدأت الاحتفالية بالتعرف على القصة الثقافية والتاريخية لحلوى المولد في مصر، وما ارتبط بها من حكايات وتقاليد جعلتها جزءًا مميزًا من مظاهر الاحتفال بالمولد النبوي الشريف عبر الأجيال.
كما تشرفنا باستضافة الأستاذ أمجد إسماعيل، الذي أمتع الحضور بإلقاء قصيدتين في مدح الرسول الكريم محمد ﷺ، ليضيف إلى الأمسية لمسة أدبية وشعرية مميزة.
واختُتم البرنامج بلقاء ثري مع الشيخ أحمد ألمظ، تناول خلاله جانبًا من أخلاق وسلوكيات الرسول الكريم ﷺ، وكيف يمكننا الاستفادة من هذه القيم وتطبيقها في حياتنا اليومية وتفاعلاتنا داخل المجتمع الأمريكي.
