A Night of Art and Culture at the ECEB

Prof. Heba Saad, the Cultural Attache and director of the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau participated in the event organized and hosted by the Egyptian Embassy for His Excellency, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abd El-Aty, to meet the Egyptian Community in Washington DC. Ambassador Motaz Zahran highlighted that the event was a chance for the Egyptian community to learn about the vision of His Excellency and his point of view on various current topics. His Excellency explained the stance of Egypt on several critical issues and engaged with the Egyptian community in an interactive dialogue and discussion.

The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau in collaboration with the Egyptian Embassy participated in the Arab Culture Day at the International Monetary Fund. The event showcased the varied rich culture of the different Arab countries. The Egyptian booth presented replicas of ancient Egyptian masterpieces, handmade crafts, silver jewelry, traditional clothes and traditional food. The visitors praised the exhibition and admired the Egyptian culture.

The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau participated in the large annual event; “Passport DC” on 4 May 2024. Thousands of visitors queued to enjoy the varied cultural activities that included “Tahteeb show” as Tahteeb is listed among the Egyptian intangible cultural heritage on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The event also showcased Arabic Calligraphy, another intangible heritage listed on WHL, by writing the names of visitors in Arabic and highlighting the beauty of the calligraphy. The visitors enjoyed taking photos with pharaonic and traditional Egyptian clothes, Henna tatoos, Tannoura show, writing their names in hieroglyphics, coloring, and tasting traditional food and drink.

Visitors were also keen to visit the museum and explore its exhibit. EgyptAir participated in the event to promote the travel to Egypt and professors from NASA participated with an exhibition to showcase the scientific Egyptian contribution in NASA projects

المكتب الثقافي التعليمي بواشنطن يشارك في الحدث الثقافي الأكبر في واشنطن Passport DC  يوم 4 مايو. اصطف آلاف من الزائرين للاستمتاع بالأنشطة الثقافية المتنوعة التي شملت عرض التحطيب باعتباره أحد نماذج التراث الامادي لمصر والمسجل في قائمة التراث الثقافي العالمي لليونسكو، وإبراز الخط العربي -المسجل أيضا في قائمة التراث العالمي- من خلال كتابة أسماء الزائرين باللغة العربية. كما عرض المكتب نماذج من القطع الآثرية والأعمال اليدوية التي تعكس الحضارة المصرية عبر العصور. واستمتع الزائرين بالتصوير بالملابس الفرعونية والملابس المصرية التقليدية، كما استمتعوا برسم الحنة، وعرض التنورة، وكتابة أسماءهم بالخط الهيروغليفي، والتلوين للأطفال، وتذوق المأكولات والمشروبات التقليدية المصرية. كما حظي المتحف بإقبال كبير من الزائرين الذي حرصوا على زيارته والتعرف على المقتنيات المعروضه به. وشاركت مصر للطيران في الفعاليات للترويج للسياحة في مصر، كما شارك عدد من الأساتذة العاملين بوكالة ناسا لعرض الدور المصري في الوكالة ومساهمة علماءنا في مشروعات ناسا.

Prof. Heba Saad, the Cultural Attaché and director of ECEB visited Virginia Tech Innovation Campus and met Dr. Kristin Lamoureux and Dr. Khaled Hassouna to discuss potential aspects of collaboration with Egyptian Universities. Prof. Saad had a tour of the new building -which is one of its kind in applying advanced methods in all its features- to learn how technology is used to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of the building.
