In the framework of the cooperation between the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau (ECEB) and the American Research Centre in Egypt (ARCE), the latter invited Dr. Heba M. Saad the Cultural Attache and Director of ECEB to give a lecture as part of the centre’s cultural program. The online lecture titled "What Birds Can Teach Us about the Mamluks: Insights into Medieval Life in Egypt” was presented by Dr Heba on 24 February.

The presentation shed light on the types of birds and their usage during the Mamluk period which were related to many social and political aspects of Egyptian society during medieval times. The lecture also highlighted the representation of birds in Mamluk Art and the symbolism behind some scenes. 

The Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau (ECEB) in collaboration with the American Research Centre in Egypt (ARCE) invites you to delve into Ancient Egypt to explore a corrective evidence-based view of ancient Egyptian women through the talk of Dr. Mariam Azad, Associate Professor of Egyptology at AUC "Women in Ancient Egypt".

The lecture will be at the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau on 12 January 2024 at 6 pm.
